Ayersville Falls To North Baltimore After Eighth Inning Score
Ayersville lost the lead late in a 6-5 defeat to North Baltimore on Monday. The game was tied at five with North Baltimore batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run for North Baltimore.
Ayersville took an early lead in the first inning. Kryshel Dales grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Ayersville tied things up at five when Hailey Johnson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
North Baltimore scored four runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by North Baltimore was led by Johnson, Kepling, and Westgate, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Hopple was on the rubber for North Baltimore. She allowed seven hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out three.
Aubrey Florence started the game for Ayersville . She allowed four hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Teryn Bour threw five and a third innings in relief.
Kelly Limbaugh led Ayersville with two hits in three at bats.
Bayer went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead North Baltimore in hits.
