For the first half on Tuesday night, Ayersville and Continental played to a 2 point game at halftime. The Pilots came out hot in the third, out-scoring the Pirates 21-11 to build a lead that Continental wouldn’t be able to overcome. Ayersville withstood a run by the Pirates, but made 21-32 free throws for the night, to help put the game on ice. Jakob Trevino led the Pilots in scoring with 21 points and also had 4 steals, while Ike Eiden added 13 points, including two big three pointers during the third quarter run. Kallen Brown had 10 points and Brayden Amoroso did a little bit of everything in the win, going for 6 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Tyson Schlachter, Ryan Clark, and Evan Clark all had 2 points a piece to round out the scoring for the Pilots. They return to action on Friday night against Hicksville.
The Pilots won the JV contest in a well-officiated game. Brady Clark hit a shot at the buzzer to win it for Ayersville, 22-21.
