The Pilots fell to Kalida in a wire to wire tight game, 38-36. Ayersville led after the first and third quarters, but the Wildcats outscored the Pilots 17-7 in the second and fourth quarters to come away with the victory. Ayersville led Kalida 14-6 with 2:00 minutes to go in the first quarter, and the Wildcats responded with a 20-3 run all the way until 5:00 minutes left in the third quarter. The Pilots wouldn’t sold, and retook the lead in the fourth 32-30, but turnovers on three consecutive possessions with the score tied or within 3 cost the boys. Jakob Trevino led the Pilots with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Brayden Amoroso added 8 points. Evan Clark got the start on senior night had a big night for Ayersville with 7 points. Ryan Clark had 5 points and 6 boards, while Ike Eiden had 4 points and Cameron Cook had 2 in his senior night start. The loss drops Ayersville to 11-9 on the season. The boys begin tournament play at home on Tuesday against Emmanuel Christian.
