Kelly Limbaugh came to ballpark and meant business on Monday, tallying five hits and leading the Pilots to a 19-2 win over Ottoville. Limbaugh tripled in the first, tripled in the second, tripled in the third, homered in the fourth, and doubled in the fourth.
Ayersville fired up the offense in the first inning. Limbaugh tripled and scored on a fielding error.
The Pilots tallied eight runs in the fourth inning. Limbaugh, Karley Mansfield, Taylor Waldron, Limbaugh, and Kaylor Martin each had RBIs in the big inning.
Hailey Johnson was credited with the victory for Ayersville. Johnson lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out four. Waldron recorded the last six outs to earn the save for the Pilots.
#14 took the loss for Ottoville and went four innings, allowing 19 runs on 27 hits and striking out four.
Ayersville totaled 27 hits in the game. Mikala Schindler, Limbaugh, Martin, Johnson, Waldron, Chelsea Porter, and Rylee Barnett each had multiple hits for the Pilots. Limbaugh and Schindler each collected five hits to lead Ayersville. The Pilots were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Limbaugh made the most plays with six.
