Ayersville Pilots fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 12-1 loss to Liberty Center on Tuesday. Liberty Center scored on a home run by Engler, a double by Barrett, and a groundout by Watchowski in the first inning.
The Ayersville Pilots struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Liberty Center, giving up 12 runs.
Liberty Center fired up the offense in the first inning. Engler drove in two when Engler homered.
A single by Nikole Vold in the fifth inning was a positive for Ayersville.
Kissler took the win for Liberty Center. The bulldog allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight.
Mikala Schindler took the loss for the Pilots. The pitcher lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and nine runs while striking out one and walking one.
Vold went 1-for-1 at the plate to lead Ayersville in hits. Ayersville Pilots Softball – Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kelly Limbaugh had four chances in the field, the most on the team.
Liberty Center tallied 14 hits. Engler, Barrett, Jeffers, and Chapa each had multiple hits for Liberty Center. Liberty Center was sure-handed in the field and committed one error which scored Hailey Bok for the Pilots. Barrett had the most chances in the field with seven.
