Ayersville Softball defeated Continental 16-1 on Saturday thanks to a timely nine runs in a big first inning. Kaylor Martin, Hailey Bok, Taylor Waldron, Nikole Vold, Rylee Barnett, and Martin all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Ayersville got on the board in the first inning. Martin singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Bok was the winning pitcher for the Pilots. The righthander surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out six.
A Scott took the loss for Continental. The pitcher went four innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out three.
Ayersville saw the ball well today, racking up 17 hits in the game. Martin, Kelly Limbaugh, Bok, Karley Mansfield, and Barnett all managed multiple hits for the Pilots. Martin led Ayersville with three hits in three at bats. The Pilots didn’t commit a single error in the field. Vold had the most chances in the field with six.
T Searfoss went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Continental in hits. Continental was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. M Potts made the most plays with three.
